Hwa Waterford: My family has one of those, it is a bible usually with a family tree in it when people were baptized, etc. Important dates pretty much everything that you wouldn't know on a daily basis. But ours has been passed down through my family.
Daren Ventrice: The family Bible is a big Bible.inside are pages of the famliy history. this can be several generations, plus all births, death ect...It is nice that your mother would want it. i'm sure that there is a lot of family information. There are proably more to it like old pictures. it is sort of like a familty tree of info. i hope she has luck finding it. what a tresurer it would be to her, and later for you and your siblings.
Lyndon Mattas: A family Bible is usually a King James or Vulgate Bible (sometimes with or without the Apocrypha and/or Deuterocanon), of exceptional quality, VERY large in size, thickness, and weight (a normal reading Bible is 4"x5", a study Bible is usually 5"x8", a family Bible! is 10"x12" or larger), usually with very large print (occasionally colored/illuminated), pictures, and occasionally maps, a small concordance, a small dictionary, and other reference tools. It often has family trees within the first or last few pages, and is often a place to stick family relics (such as grandma's love letters to grandpa, your aunt's pressed flowers, antique lace from a wedding, birth certificates, etc). It's one of those things that make you say "Wow, what's this?!" when you come across it, and can't miss it....Show more
Melina Minneweather: there is always a place in the front of the bible where u enter who got married ,who died and when.who was born and when etc... there was probably some old family info in it like important dates.
Particia Thorton: A family bible is a Bible that will also have family information in it, things such as births, marriages and deaths within the family.
