How can I promote the public to demand more variety in American foods selection?

Toby Women: Dang you gota chip on your "Q"..""DON'T TELL YOU"" You got it from me!!!

Caryl Mclaen: hey dan. I have eaten dogs and beetles before. I want to try the other things u mentioned that I haven't eaten yet. The world is really really big and diversity is beyond all of our knowledge (see Discovery Channel's planet earth) and to limit ourselves to just a handful of animals is childish. Always always try new things and if you dont like it ...so be it.....at least you know what's it like.

Pamela Meno: to the first answer.GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE THENLINKS. PICTURES. ANYTHING.all I see is burgers and applebees when I drive up and down the USA...Show more

Bernie Cerra: Is there no end to the diversity in your questions? =)I am going to have to go ahead and disagree with you here on a couple of counts. Given part of your question is done tounge in cheek.... do you really want to eat dog, cat, beetle, horse, lizard or elephant? 1. The variety of "American" foo! d is much broader then you allude to... Southern cooking or Soul Food is very American and offers a wider variety of options. BBQ is a distinctly American style of cooking that offers up a lot of flavor to traditionally bland things. TexMex is more American then Mexican in style... and a lot of Chinese restraunts in the US offer more options then ones you might find in China. 2. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers are actually both of German origin... which brings me to point #2... as land if immigrants we've sampled food from all over the world and have it all around us... the food court at your local mall has more options then a lot of people in other countries ever get to sample. 3. I think its so backward thinking to say that we are still a meat and potatoes society... that was true for the 1st 200 years as most influecnes came from Europe, but that is changing over time. As the flow of immigrants has shifted from Europe to Asia and Latin America the types of food we offer has s! hifted as well... you see tons of "mexican" and "chinese" fast! food places now a days like Baja Fresh and Panda Express that are becoming numerous and popular.4. I love a good burger and a lot of people do. You see McDonalds all over the world... its not just an American thing anymore... there are knock-offs like it in dozens of countries. So... to sum up, variety is good and I encourage everyone to try new things... but I think the state of American food options is better then its ever been and will continue to diversify and grow. Babette Deloe: I live in TX. No shortage of other animals for sale at restaurants. I ate at a burger joint near Austin that sold Buffalo Burgers. Texas cuisine has quail or snake. Cajun has alligator. Chili cookoffs have a variety of Other meats in their fare.

Ariel Arons: I think all you'd have to do is some research and you'll realize that there is no lack of creativity in this country.http://www.chezpanisse.com/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chez_Panisse...Show more
