Lens cleaning kits are available at many stores that carry cameras, (even though they are not camera shops perse) Prices are very reasonable. I have lost more cleaning kits than I ever used up. Coy Tapley: Dead is right. Camera lenses are coated with very thin films of chemicals that keep light from bouncing around inside the lens, keep out UV light, etc. These coatings can be removed very easily if you clean them too aggressively. Plus lenses today are plastic, not glass, so they can scratch and even wear down if you clean them too roughly. The best solution is to keep them from getting dirty in the first place by using a lens cap and keeping fingers away. They make lens cleaners that are not meant to be wiped off, they slide the dirt off and then just dry. That's what you want....Show more
