Can you buy a automatic motorcycle?

Coleman Petropoulos: I don't know if they are still made, but some years ago Honda came out with an automatic drive cycle, and I think it was about a 500cc.

Virgil Loatman: Honda calls their DN-01 a motorcycle but most knowledgeable bikers regard it as a big scooter. Me, if I wanted a 750 cc bike I'll get one with a shift and put the extra $8,000 in my pocket comparing what a DN-1 costs to almost any other 750.

Phillip Modafferi: Look for older Honda 400 or 750 automatic, Moto-Guzzi made a larger automatic transmission model originally for police use and later as 850 California model for regular sales. 1000cc version later also? Couple specialty makes available for lots of $$ with Harley engines. A Taiwan or Korean scooter maker-Honsung or something like that- is supposed to be making a couple of motorcycle styled scooter drive train models that are reported to be fairly fast and reliable-one is about a 350 or 400cc , the other is a 650cc....Show more

Ronny Nowzari: Yes, Vespas/Mopeds are automatic, plus there are 50cc peewee bikes that are automatic.

Elden Bardach: Several manufacturers offer "automatic" motorcycles. The Can Am Spider is supposed to be available later this year with automatic and reverse and Honda makes the DN-01 which is an automatic. Check out the DN-01 online. Several motorcycle magazines have done articles and tests on the Honda. Try Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine.

Shaunta Paap: Honda made the 'Hondamatic' back in the 70s. There are still a few of those bikes around but they are more 'collectors items' than real motorcycles. You don't want a bike that old.Yamaha makes a big touring bike with no clutch. You still shift it but you don't need to learn to use the clutch. That might be nice. I understand that idea is being copied in more bikes now but I couldn't tell you the model numbers. The Honda DN-01. Strange looking bike. They say 'new' and 'different', I say just strange. You can sh! ift it without the clutch, or just set it on automatic. Honda! says it turns heads. I say 'not in a good way'.And then there's scooters. Don't discount them, they come in all sizes from little 50cc put-putters to big 650cc tourers that you could cross the country on. The Honda Silverwing and Suzuki Bergman are very popular these days. I know older bikers who have problems with their legs or feet, or injuries, that prevent them from using foot controls. The scooters have no foot controls at all!...Show more

Robbie Starchman: if you want automatic, then you'll either want to look into the Touring bikes or scooters.I've seen 500cc+ scooters, but i don't know how fast they go. I'm planning on testing a 300cc vespa some time soon.
