Jed Mutone: The exhaust on that car is expensive, but the price quoted to you is way too high. Take the car to a shop that specializes in custom exhaust, and you should be able to have the repair done for a few hundred dollars.

Willetta Munhall: Ok is that the Dealers Price for the repair ? Have you tried any muffler shops or any other shops to see if they can do the job for less?A couple a calls wont hurt. Junk yards or Salvage yards are a great way to save money on parts but you would need someone to do thel labor for you.If the car runs and shifts good then maybe you should consider repairing it and fixing it....Show more

Ramona Pago: Ask for a price WITHOUT the lifetime guarantee.There are three parts: Exhaust, Resonator, MufflerEach part comes with its own pipes (very convenient).If only the middle (Resonator) and rear (Muffler) sections need to be repl! aced, then this is an easy shade tree mechanic project. You can see the cost of the parts on eBay searching for "subaru forester exhaust 1999" You would probably need the donuts and special bolts to interconnect the parts.It really makes fast work of it if you have access to a torch, but you can usually do OK with a power hacksaw/sawsall.I suspect that the front (Exhaust) pipe is probably fine....Show more

Darrel Stele: if that,s all that,s wrong with it you know what i would do ? i would look around in the junk yards and find 1 in good shape and have someone put it on. there,s no use getting rid of it because of the pipe.

Joesph Smithmyer: The price is waaaay too high! I'd just go to the junk yard, find the parts I need replaced, and do it myself.
