Johnny Sirko: If you are going to college pick one that allows you to find your own study abroad school. Then attend that american university for the first year or semester and then study abroad so you can receive credit towards your college diploma, If you do it before you apply to college those credit can be worthless. It doesn't matter if you don't know your major yet because you will probably just end up taking basic classes anyways. Hope that helps, Studying abroad is an unbelievable experience. I went to Greece this summer for a 2 week program... wish I went longer...Show more
Christiane Cattano: Hey,"btw i wouldn't mind leaving my life behind for a year, so don't just state your doubts and how youd miss everything, thats just annoying." - That's my kind of girl, lol. I cannot stand people who are pestimistic about things. As for the study abroad stuff, here goes?I'm from NJ as well and I decided I wanted to obtain my Master's Degree abroad and am doing just ! that. In-order to study abroad, you really need to find a program if you wish to stay there for a short period of time. Be careful only studying a year in Argentina and trying to transfer your credits here to complete your degree, as you will have to go through a US Accredidation Service, and this is problematic. They may not transfer your credits and you will literally have to start college all over, that's a waste of time and money. Studying abroad does look good on your resume, as it gives you an international persepective on society, knowledge and life. If you want to obtain a degree there you need to apply to the university and submit highschool transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal essay, proof of funds for accommodation & tuition, passport, student visa, application, etc. It has tons of steps, but definatly well worth it. You will need to have a formal understanding of Spanish as the courses are taught in the language. You will need to pass a Language Prof! icieny Test the summer before classes start.Good Luck!!...Show! more
